Janice has spoken about writing, the business of writing, breaking in, pitching, or other industry-related topics at educational institutions such as Harvard University, Boston University, and Amherst College, as well as at writers’ conferences, professional organizations, and continuing education venues.
Janice also has moderated or participated in industry panels, served as a judge for screenwriting or film competitions, and produced or assisted with producing presentations by industry leaders, including by Pulitzer Prize, Academy Award, and Emmy-winners.
A Senior Affiliated Faculty Member at Emerson College, Janice teaches Writing the Feature Film, Writing Television Pilots, and Writing for Television. She has taught The Business of Screenwriting, Screenwriting, and Writing the Short Script in Emerson’s Screenwriting Certificate Program and Screenwriting in Emerson’s Pre-College Program. Additionally, Janice has taught a self-designed Film course at Tufts University.
Janice also has taught many self-designed continuing education courses, including: Immersion Weekend on Writing and Selling Screenplays; Advanced Screenwriting; How to Write a Screenplay; The Business of Screenwriting; Telling and Selling: How to Pitch a Movie Project; Ten Ways to Break into the Film Industry; and How to Make the Most of Meetings.
Janice welcomes inquiries about her availability to speak at conferences, festivals, or other industry gatherings, moderate or participate in industry panels, produce or assist with producing industry events, or serve as a judge for screenwriting, television writing, or film competitions.
